Christi van der Westhuizen is the author of White Power & the Rise and Fall of the National Party (Zebra Press, 2007) and editor of Gender Instruments in Africa- Critical Perspectives, Future Strategies (Institute for Global Dialogue, 2005). Her latest publication is a chapter on sexuality and gender in the book In the Balance: South Africans Debate Reconciliation (Jacana, 2010). She writes a monthly column on politics and democracy in the South African press. Van der Westhuizen holds a master's degree in political economy and South African politics (cum laude) and is a Ph.D. candidate in sociology at the University of Cape Town.
