Yogyakarta Principles

The Yogyakarta Principles were launched in 2006 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia by a group of international human rights experts. The drafting and adoption of the Yogyakarta Principles was prompted by documented human rights violations against people because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. The Yogyakarta Principles apply human rights in relation to sexual orientation and gender identity through 29 principles.
