Develop Feminist and Gender-Democratic Concepts Further
The Gunda Werner Institute is a meeting place and discussion space for different orientations: for the theories, practise and grassroots projects of the worldwide feminist women's movements just as for the gender-democratic and gender-political draughts which aim rather at change in social organisations and incorporate man-political attempts. From different political attempts and personal experiences outgoing, we look for new common answers to still unsolved questions of gender justice.

 - Where does feminism come from? This article describes in brief the developement of feminism, starting in 1791, during the French Enlightenment, when Olympe de Gouges demanded human rights and civil rights for women. At this point they were still only granted to men. Later in the 19th and 20th century, similar early feminist ideas inspired women’s movements in numerous countries to push for the right to education, paid employment, and social equality. more»
